Ventaire Awning & Ornamental Iron is proud to say that we have served home and business owners throughout San Angelo, TX for more than 75 years! In 1937, Hardin Kettler founded Ventaire Awning Company and focused on making Venetian blinds and aluminum awnings. In 1945, Kettler joined forces with Wesley Bowden in order to grow the business and provide more services to their dedicated customers.
The two made a perfect pair; Bowden would travel around all of West Texas selling awnings to countless home and business owners while Kettler focused on the quality craftsmanship that went into each awning. At the end of the week, Bowden would return to the customers’ homes and businesses to install the awnings for them.
It wasn’t long before Kettler was building bigger and better awnings while utilizing the cutting edge technology of the time.
In 1956, Billy Tounget began to work for Kettler while taking classes at San Angelo College. He learned all the skills and tricks to superior awning making from Kettler and Bowden themselves. In 1978, Kettler sold Ventaire Awning Company to Billy and his wife, Charlotte who became the President and Vice President, respectively.
To this day, Billy and Charlotte, along with Doug and Dawn Tounget, operate Ventaire Awning & Ornamental Iron. They are committed to providing quality craftsmanship as well as superior customer service. With more than 75 years of experience, you can’t go wrong when you choose Ventaire.
